“There’s something profoundly timeless about Cherelle Jardine’s new song, "Lay the Weapons Down." From a songwriter’s perspective, it’s more than just a track, it’s a meditation on our collective humanity, a call to surrender the weapons of anger, fear, and division that so often divide us. Her album Something Old, Something New masterfully bridges the past and the future, reminding us that true progress comes when we let go of what no longer serves us. This song encourages introspection, challenging us to find peace within ourselves so we can extend that peace outward. In a world craving healing, Cherelle’s voice offers a gentle yet powerful reminder: that tomorrow’s possibilities are born from today’s acts of compassion and understanding. It’s a beautiful testament to the transformative power of music and the human spirit. Take a moment, listen, reflect, and consider what weapons you might lay down for the sake of a better tomorrow.” - Rich Allen
